Bonita Pour Femme Perfume Packaging and Structure Design

Platinum A' Design Award Winner 2020

Vishal Vora's Bonita Pour Femme Perfume Packaging and Structure Design presents a commanding study in material luxury and compositional equilibrium, wherein the spherical flacon emerges as the gravitational center of a carefully orchestrated tableau set against sumptuous cognac-toned leather folds that cascade in soft diagonal pleats from upper left toward lower right, creating a dynamic ground that simultaneously frames and elevates the central object. The vessel itself demonstrates a masterful interplay between deep obsidian glass and burnished gold hardware, the latter forming an elegant crescent collar that cradles a sculptural spray mechanism crowned by cylindrical actuators of gleaming aureate metal. A braided leather handle, executed in warm chestnut tones with intricate plaiting that catches ambient light along its woven ridges, arcs gracefully above the bottle, introducing organic craftsmanship into an otherwise sleek industrial form. The compositional architecture adheres to classical triangular stability, with the braided loop forming the apex while the rounded bottle body anchors the base, all positioned along a subtle diagonal that creates dynamic tension against the horizontal leather folds. Chromatic relationships operate within an analogous harmony of warm earth tones ranging from deep mahogany through caramel to rich amber, punctuated by the cool black glass that provides essential tonal contrast, while gold accents introduce notes of luminous warmth that bridge the darker bottle with the lighter leather surroundings. Light enters from the upper left quadrant, producing soft diffused illumination that generates gentle gradations across both the matte leather surfaces and the glossy reflective glass, with subtle specular highlights dancing across the metallic components and a pronounced reflection capturing the warm tones of the environmental leather within the curved glass surface itself. The pendant leather tag suspended from a delicate cord introduces vertical counterpoint while reinforcing brand identity through debossed typography and a flowing emblematic device suggestive of movement and femininity.

Challenge was to create a feminine perfume product and packaging for the GCC and African markets. Conceptualized from the visual narratives of woman’s obsession and desire, representation for fashion, class, and luxury was translated into the concept for this product along with the name "Bonita". Designers took inspiration from the Hobo handbag as a metaphor to tell the story of a woman’s obsession and desire.
