Treasure Box Sales Office

Golden A' Design Award Winner 2020

A crystalline glass pavilion emerges at twilight, its elongated horizontal mass hovering above an obsidian reflecting pool that doubles the architectural presence into perfect bilateral symmetry, creating an almost metaphysical dialogue between structure and its liquid doppelgänger. The composition adheres to classical golden section proportions, with the building's rectilinear envelope bisected by dramatic sculptural interventions visible through floor-to-ceiling curtain wall glazing that transforms the facade into a cinematic screen of interior tableaux. Qun Wen's Courtyard NO.1 Sales Office presents a masterful study in chromatic gradation, wherein the crepuscular azure sky transitions through cerulean to deep ultramarine at the zenith, while the building's interior radiates warm cadmium yellows and vivid vermillion reds from sculptural installations that pierce through the cool steel-blue envelope. The luminous ovoid portal dominating the left facade section appears rendered in thousands of amber-gold points of light, suggesting an infinity mirror effect or LED matrix installation that creates a cosmic aperture within the otherwise orthogonal framework. This warm focal element establishes a complementary chromatic dialogue with the cool violet and magenta illumination suffusing the right wing, where abstract red sculptural forms evoke biomorphic energy amid the rational modernist container. The spatial construction employs rigorous one-point perspective reinforced by the vertical mullion rhythm, while atmospheric perspective manifests through the soft gradation of distant treelines silhouetted against the transitional sky. Surface textures oscillate between the smooth specular reflections of glass and water, creating a phenomenological experience of dematerialization where solid and void, real and reflected, merge into an architectural reverie. The composition achieves remarkable visual equilibrium through asymmetrical balance, with the gravitational pull of the illuminated portal counterweighted by the chromatic intensity of installations rightward, while the perfect mirror reflection below anchors the hovering mass with grounding symmetry.

The architectural concept is based on the artistic supremacism that reflected the social and technological changes of the 1920s, with the intention of expressing the mutual influence and interdependence between physical and virtual space in the digital age. As a reflection of the real world, this project attempts to look beyond a single function of the sales office through improved design, so that it can enhance the quality of public life and lead people strive for a better future and make a positive contribution to the community.
