Lulu Ville House

Dante Luna's Lulu Villa House emerges at twilight as a masterful composition of interlocking geometric volumes rendered in a sophisticated palette of warm limestone, cool board-formed concrete, and rich mahogany timber screens, the entire architectural ensemble captured during the blue hour when cerulean and cobalt skies transition through gradients of Prussian blue to soft periwinkle while the building's integrated illumination casts pools of warm amber and golden ochre light across textured surfaces. The compositional architecture follows classical principles of asymmetrical balance with the dominant concrete cantilever positioned according to golden section proportions, its substantial mass projecting rightward while the horizontal stone wall extends leftward creating dynamic equilibrium across the frame. The chromatic relationships establish a sophisticated complementary dialogue between the warm earth tones of the rough-hewn limestone cladding, suggesting raw sienna and Naples yellow undertones, against the cool blue-violet atmospheric envelope of the evening sky. The central mahogany screen functions as the visual and psychological focal point, its vertical timber elements arranged in a rhythmic pattern of varying widths that creates an organic brise-soleil effect, warm interior light filtering through to generate an intricate pattern of illuminated apertures suggesting both permeability and protective enclosure. Spatial construction employs two-point perspective with the limestone wall creating a strong orthogonal recession toward the left vanishing point while the concrete volume anchors the right portion of the frame, palm trees providing vertical counterpoints that soften the geometric rigor with biomorphic natural forms. The permeable grass-paver forecourt establishes a textural dialogue between the organic grid pattern of vegetation and stone against the monolithic architectural surfaces, low-level pathway lighting creating a processional approach that guides the eye toward the luminous threshold. Surface textures range from the rough tactile quality of the coral stone wall suggesting geological time and regional materiality to the smooth shuttered concrete bearing the horizontal grain of formwork to the warm linear rhythm of the tropical hardwood screen, each material expressing its inherent character while contributing to a unified tectonic language that celebrates craft and honest construction.

It located in Portillo Beach, Las Terrenas. The housing of 850 square meters of construction has a high-end finish. The design is based on the integrity of the materials and how they blend into the Caribbean beach landscape: the natural gypsum floor, the unpolished travertine stone floor, coral stone and aluminum with wood finish, among others. The design design consists of a combination of different textures, elements and volumes. This manages to be balanced and with a good management of the materiality, being distinctive in its facades the concrete in its natural state.
