Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025
Naomi Langerak's Spiral Eco3 Recyclable Christmas Tree commands the compositional center with its distinctive helical form, the integrated string of warm incandescent lights tracing a continuous ascending spiral from the substantial base to the delicate apex, creating a luminous golden pathway that activates the entire conical silhouette against the domestic interior beyond. The chromatic foundation rests upon a verdant green reminiscent of traditional evergreen foliage, rendered here in a bristled synthetic texture that catches and diffuses the embedded illumination, producing a soft aureole effect at each revolution of the spiral. The warm amber glow of the lights, registering approximately 2700 Kelvin in apparent temperature, establishes chromatic dialogue with the active hearth positioned in the right third of the composition, where dancing flames contribute both additional warm light and kinetic visual interest. The spatial arrangement follows classical triangular compositional principles, with the tree forming the apex of a pyramidal structure anchored by wrapped gift boxes in the foreground, their surfaces displaying harmonious red and green paper with satin ribbon accents that echo the seasonal palette. The background reveals a thoughtfully appointed living space with a substantial upholstered armchair in warm brown leather tones, a traditional mantelpiece decorated with evergreen garland and a table lamp emitting supplementary warm illumination, and crimson stockings with cream cuffs suspended in anticipation of seasonal traditions. The tonal structure operates in a warm, low-to-middle key range, with the concentrated brilliance of the spiral lights and firelight providing dramatic value contrast against the shadowed periphery. Edge treatment varies purposefully throughout, with the soft, diffused boundaries of the tree's bristled foliage contrasting against the crisper linear definition of architectural elements and the wrapped packages. The atmospheric resonance evokes profound domestic warmth, seasonal celebration, and the intimate joy of interior spaces transformed by festive ritual.
The Spiral Christmas Eco3 is the first artificial tree made entirely from 100 percent recyclable materials that is completely recyclable at the same time. Unlike traditional models that combine plastic and steel, this design features a patented spiral frame made from recycled, fire retardant pet plastic. It flat packs to reduce co2 emissions, assembles in under a minute, and includes USB-C powered lights with international plugs. Compact, sustainable, and easy to store, it offers a modern, planet friendly alternative to conventional holiday trees.
