Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025
A dynamic diagonal grid of snack packaging dominates the visual field, each unit rotated forty-five degrees to create a tessellated chevron pattern that activates the entire picture plane with kinetic energy and rhythmic repetition, the matte black substrate of each flexible pouch functioning as a theatrical backdrop against which an explosion of hot magenta, cadmium orange, electric yellow, and cyan blue pigments perform their chromatic spectacle, the central triangular motif rendered in gradient transitions from deep coral through vivid pink to white establishes a luminous focal point around which stylized figurative elements orbit including a masculine figure in striped athletic attire captured in dynamic pose suggesting musical performance or dance, hands reaching outward with fingers splayed in gestural expression of creative exuberance, while abstract lightning bolt forms in canary yellow pierce the composition at multiple angles creating vectors of implied movement and electrical vitality, the illustrated aesthetic draws upon contemporary street art sensibilities merged with digital illustration techniques producing flat color fields with occasional gradient modeling that suggests depth without abandoning the fundamentally graphic character of the surface treatment, scattered star motifs in gold and white punctuate the negative spaces adding celestial sparkle and festive atmosphere, cloud-like forms in white and pink soften the otherwise sharp geometric vocabulary introducing organic counterpoint to the angular dominant structure, the typography employs a customized logotype with dimensional treatment suggesting embossed or three-dimensional letterforms rendered in warm cream tones with orange shadow effects that anchor brand identity within the visual cacophony, compositionally the repetitive modular arrangement creates visual unity through crystallographic distribution while the diagonal orientation transforms static rectangles into dynamic diamond shapes generating perpetual optical movement across the photographic documentation, the lighting appears as even studio illumination that faithfully reproduces the packaging colors without dramatic shadow play allowing the inherent chromatic intensity of the printed graphics to communicate their full vibrational energy, surface textures range from the glossy reflective quality of the flexible film substrate to the matte printed areas where ink absorption creates subtle tactile variation visible in the gentle creases and folds of the packaging material suggesting the presence of product within.
Feira Preta is the biggest event of Black culture in Latin America. From its start 16 years ago as a fair, the event grew into a three day festival, a celebratory space where material and symbolic goods are exchanged, where roots are preserved and knowledge is transferred from one generation to the next. As part of our global diversity and inclusion platform, Doritos wanted to help amplify the voices that often go unheard, ensuring bold voices are given the opportunity to create positive change.
