Waterscape Colab with JPRE Office

The metallic ribbons twist and curl with organic fluidity reminiscent of water currents frozen mid-flow, their highly reflective surfaces capturing and fragmenting available light into countless luminous facets that animate the entire overhead plane with dynamic visual complexity. Compositionally, the installation follows a strong central axis that draws the eye from the foreground through a dramatic perspectival corridor toward a distant light-filled threshold where a solitary figure in flowing white garments provides essential human scale and emotional resonance. The chromatic palette operates within a sophisticated range of cool neutrals, with the dominant silver-gray aluminum creating temperature contrasts against warmer accents of natural timber visible in the minimalist furniture elements below and subtle rose undertones glimpsed through gaps in the metallic formations. They performed the design for shared office spaces. Inspired by traditional Japanese craftsmanship techniques for making kimonos using a single piece of cloth, here, a aluminum sheet is spread across the entire ceiling and fills the space with waves of vitality, like that of the sunlight shining on the surface of the paddy fields of yesteryear. The overlapping metallic waves create areas of different heights and expanses of space that change freely, as water flows in a lively and reactive manner, thus suffusing the area with the necessary functions and atmosphere.
