Phoenix Mansion Sales Office

Golden A' Design Award Winner 2025

Yongna Sheng's Phoenix Mansion Sales Office presents a masterfully orchestrated architectural interior where the commanding visual hierarchy emerges from the dramatic interplay between dark timber structural elements and the luminous central sculptural installation featuring two spherical woven forms suspended within an ornate metal framework. The compositional architecture follows a rigorous bilateral symmetry, with the central axis defined by a series of rectangular skylights that pierce the elaborate timber lattice ceiling, creating a zenith-directed visual corridor that draws the eye upward toward natural illumination. The chromatic palette operates within a sophisticated restricted range dominated by charcoal-black painted timber members establishing a strong linear rhythm against warmer earth tones including raw sienna and ochre emanating from the pair of intricately woven spherical sculptures that function as the focal point's gravitational center. The lighting paradigm demonstrates masterful integration of natural daylight filtering through both the overhead clerestory windows and the delicately perforated decorative screen featuring repeating scale-like patterns reminiscent of traditional craftsmanship, while the highly polished stone floor in deep graphite tones creates mirror-like reflections that effectively double the perceived architectural height and multiply the geometric complexity of the timber framework. Spatial construction employs one-point linear perspective with the vanishing point located precisely behind the sculptural installation, creating measured recession through the sequential layering of structural bays defined by massive square timber columns. The textural contrast between the smooth reflective floor surface, the rhythmic linear patterns of the slatted ceiling, the organic woven texture of the central spheres, and the intricate perforated metalwork of the decorative screen generates rich visual dialogue between manufactured precision and artisanal warmth. The atmospheric resonance evokes contemplative tranquility, suggesting a threshold space between exterior garden glimpsed through peripheral glazing and interior sanctuary, while the overall composition demonstrates contemporary interpretations of traditional pavilion architecture through its trabeated structural expression, careful proportioning, and integration of craft objects within an architecturally rigorous framework.

Yiwu Greentown is located in the core area of Yiwu City, Zhejiang Province, China. The success of the Yiwu Greentown Fengqi Chaoming project lies not only in its exquisite design skills and unique aesthetic perspective, but also in its profound understanding and respect for regional culture, as well as its precise grasp of modern lifestyle. This project not only adds a scenery to Yiwu City, but also sets a new benchmark in the field of spatial design, demonstrating the possibility of balancing inheritance and innovation in spatial design.
