Platinum A' Design Award Winner 2025

Xiang Wang's Wen Shan Hai Moutai Experience Center presents a breathtaking double-height interior space where the compositional architecture establishes a profound sense of ceremonial progression along a strong central axis, the eye drawn immediately to a magnificent elongated communal table crafted from warm roseate hardwood that serves as the gravitational center of this refined environment. The spatial organization employs classical one-point perspective with the vanishing point positioned at the illuminated display wall in the background, creating an almost ecclesiastical procession toward a sanctum of carefully curated objects presented within individually lit niches. Flanking the central corridor, towering vertical display columns rise from floor to ceiling on the left side, each compartment housing precious vessels beneath protective glass domes illuminated from within by warm amber spotlights that create intimate halos of golden luminosity against the predominantly low-key tonal atmosphere. The chromatic palette demonstrates sophisticated restraint, dominated by deep forest greens, charcoal grays veined with serpentine patterns suggesting luxurious stone surfaces, and the rich mahogany warmth of the central wooden table that provides essential chromatic relief against the cool surrounding darkness. The ceiling treatment reveals dramatic veined stone in tones of slate gray and moss green, while mirrored surfaces multiply the vertical display elements and expand the perceived spatial volume. Lighting design functions as a primary compositional element, with focused spotlighting creating theatrical hierarchy while ambient darkness recedes into mystery at the peripheral zones. The seated arrangement with traditional wooden chairs featuring woven rush seats establishes human scale and invites contemplation, while textile runners in muted teal and cream delineate place settings with geometric precision. Surface textures range from the polished reflective qualities of glass vitrines to the tactile warmth of wood grain, the cool sophistication of veined stone, and the soft absorption of textile elements, creating a rich material dialogue that rewards sustained visual exploration.

Green hues dominate the palette, with layers of verdant tones evoking the exquisite tones of Longquan celadon. The design captures the undulating green waves of a lake, reflecting the beauty of jade. The hanging mountain-style roof forms the indoor framework, sloping gently from the center to the sides. Under the embrace of this enchanting setting, the atmosphere becomes increasingly warm and jewel-like, enveloping visitors in a world of elegance and tranquility.
