Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025
Warm honey-toned oak paneling wraps this sophisticated dining interior in Adrian Hung's T Haven Apartment Living, establishing an enveloping cocoon of natural materiality that speaks to contemporary luxury residential design while honoring timeless craft traditions. The compositional architecture employs precise radial symmetry, anchored by a circular dining table positioned at the geometric heart of the space, its dark walnut surface featuring an integrated lazy susan mechanism that introduces functional elegance. Above, a constellation of polished chrome-finished spherical pendant lights descends from a recessed circular ceiling detail, their reflective surfaces capturing and redistributing ambient illumination while creating visual counterpoint to the organic wood grain surrounding them. The chromatic palette oscillates between warm amber and honey wood tones ranging from pale ash to deep walnut, cool metallic aubergine and gunmetal grays of the sculptural lighting elements, and neutral dove-gray upholstery on the eight dining chairs arranged in perfect peripheral distribution. Spatial depth emerges through careful layering: the undulating curved millwork at the rear wall creates rhythmic vertical shadows while concealing service circulation, the dark-stained cabinetry along the right wall housing glassware and wine storage recedes into shadow, and the pale stone flooring in large-format tiles establishes a grounding horizontal plane. Light quality suggests controlled artificial illumination with warm color temperature around 3000K, producing soft-edged shadows beneath furniture and gentle highlights on polished surfaces. The facture of materials reveals exceptional craftsmanship in the book-matched wood veneer panels, the precision joinery of curved millwork, and the flawless upholstery tailoring. Edge transitions between materials demonstrate careful detailing where wood meets ceiling plane through shadow gaps, where floor meets wall through minimal reveals, and where pendant suspension cables penetrate the textured ceiling insert. The atmospheric register conveys refined hospitality, intimate gathering, and elevated domestic ritual within a space that balances warmth with contemporary sophistication.
The project involves designing and constructing a spacious apartment. This residence will feature multiple bedrooms, bathrooms and various living spaces to meet the needs of a modern family. The design will focus on creating a comfortable, functional and aesthetically pleasing environment. A floating staircase will serve as a highlight, drawing visitors attention as they explore the art pieces displayed around the room. This blend of art, design and functionality will create a unique and inviting atmosphere for visitors.
