Yuhan Zhang's Eden Rise Vertical Eco Living Community commands the visual field as a monumental organic tower rising dramatically against a luminous golden-hour sky, its biomorphic exoskeletal lattice structure rendered in warm silvered tones that catch and reflect the ambient atmospheric light with remarkable chromatic subtlety, the composition employing a strong vertical axis positioned in the left third of the frame according to classical compositional principles while the horizontal datum of the waterline and distant urban skyline establishes a stabilizing counterpoint at approximately the golden section, the tower's distinctive cellular facade pattern evokes natural growth systems reminiscent of cellular matrices, honeycomb geometries, and botanical venation networks, each ovoid aperture revealing glimpses of verdant interior gardens suggesting a living breathing organism rather than static architecture, the chromatic palette orchestrates a sophisticated interplay between the cool blue-gray structural framework, warm amber and ochre tones emanating from the illuminated interior spaces, and the graduated sky transitioning from pale cerulean through rose-tinged clouds to deep golden atmospherics at the horizon, light quality suggests late afternoon or early evening with low-angle solar illumination creating gentle modeling across the curved surfaces while casting the tower's lower portions into subtle atmospheric haze that establishes convincing aerial perspective, the spatial construction presents a clear foreground-middle ground-background recession with the reflective water surface anchoring the base, the tower occupying the commanding middle register, and the conventional metropolitan skyline serving as contextual backdrop that emphasizes through scale contrast the audacious verticality of the central subject, textural treatment differentiates between the smooth continuous curves of the structural ribs and the varied transparency of the glazed openings, edge behavior throughout maintains crisp definition against the atmospheric background while softer transitions occur where the structure meets the hazy horizon, the overall affective register communicates aspiration, ecological harmony, and visionary optimism through its synthesis of technological sophistication and organic formal vocabulary

This project addresses Chicago's food deserts by creating a mile high vertical community at the lakefront, incorporating vertical farms that provide fresh produce within the urban fabric. Inspired by water droplet patterns, the four interconnected towers feature a tubular structure supported by a diagrid exoskeleton, maximizing structural depth and allowing for natural light and air circulation. Renewable energy sources, including wind turbines and cloud harvesting, create a self sustaining environment that can be reproduced in the future.
