Zipeng Zhou's Hug Me Sitting collection presents three sculptural armchairs arranged in a triangular compositional schema against a pristine neutral gray ground, establishing a visual hierarchy through chromatic differentiation and spatial positioning that invites sequential contemplation of each form's distinctive character while maintaining compositional unity through shared morphological vocabulary. The central foreground chair commands primary attention through its saturated terracotta-coral hue rendered in a finely ribbed textile displaying subtle herringbone or chevron patterning that creates optical texture and dimensional interest across its undulating surfaces. This dominant piece exhibits a zoomorphic quality suggesting an abstracted creature at rest, with rounded haunches forming robust legs that flow seamlessly into an embracing backrest and organically curved armrests extending forward in a gesture of welcome. The leftward chair, positioned at a three-quarter rear angle, presents itself in a deep moss or forest green bouclé fabric, its turned orientation revealing the sculptural silhouette's profile while contributing spatial depth through overlapping forms. The rightward chair in powder blue or dove gray bouclé occupies the middle ground with frontal presentation, its cool temperature creating chromatic counterpoint to the warm coral centerpiece. The triadic color harmony operates across complementary and split-complementary relationships, with the green and coral establishing near-complementary tension while the cool blue mediates and stabilizes the chromatic conversation. Soft, diffused overhead illumination models each form with gentle gradations, casting subtle shadows beneath the chunky leg forms that ground the pieces spatially while preserving the ethereal quality of the minimalist backdrop. The consistent absence of visible joinery, seams at structural transitions, and the monolithic upholstery treatment creates an impression of forms emerging whole from imagination rather than assembled from components, evoking both mid-century organic modernism in the tradition of designers exploring biomorphic vocabularies and contemporary soft sculpture's embrace of comfort as aesthetic principle. The negative space between and around each chair functions actively, defining silhouettes and establishing breathing room that prevents visual crowding while emphasizing each piece's autonomous sculptural presence within the collective arrangement.
Hug Me is an armchair designed for relaxed sitting at home. The arms extend outward in a form inspired by an embrace. A thick, sturdy base gives the armchair a solid and stable appearance. The backrest reclines at 105 degrees to follow the curves of the body, which suits reading, resting and family gatherings. An integrated structure combines a built-in metal frame with slow-rebound molded foam, and the cover is hand-stitched without glue. Polyester fiber and lambswool versions are offered in several colors, with a water and stain resistant finish.
