ELTO Consultancy's U Magic Medical Cosmetic Institution presents a reception environment where pristine white surfaces establish the dominant chromatic foundation, punctuated by rhythmic insertions of deep charcoal to near-black architectural elements that create a sophisticated tonal counterpoint throughout the volumetric composition. The spatial arrangement follows a clear axiality, with the custom reception desk occupying the central middle ground, its faceted geometric form clad entirely in white marble exhibiting delicate grey veining that introduces subtle organic movement across otherwise orthogonal planes. This central anchor point establishes the primary focal hierarchy, drawing the eye through linear perspective convergence enhanced by the rectilinear ceiling treatment overhead, where parallel black bands alternate with white coffers to generate a strong directional vector pulling vision deep into the spatial sequence. Flanking this central axis symmetrically, pairs of low-profile seating arrangements occupy the foreground zones, each cluster comprising two white upholstered lounge chairs with clean-lined contemporary silhouettes and low rectangular side tables in what appears to be brushed brass or champagne gold metal, introducing warm metallic accents that provide chromatic relief from the otherwise cool achromatic palette. The compositional balance operates through bilateral symmetry modified by subtle asymmetries in lighting and wall treatment, creating dynamic equilibrium rather than static mirroring. Perimeter walls on both left and right exhibit floor-to-ceiling horizontal louvered systems in warm neutral tones ranging from pale wood to soft grey, these striations functioning as textural counterpoint to the smooth polished surfaces dominating the central zone while also modulating natural or artificial illumination entering from behind, creating a softly diffused ambient glow that appears warm in temperature, approximately 3000K, suggesting a welcoming atmosphere conducive to the medical cosmetic context. The ceiling plane demonstrates sophisticated articulation, with the aforementioned linear black bands forming a rectilinear frame that defines spatial boundaries while the white recessed sections appear to house integrated linear LED fixtures providing even, shadow-minimizing illumination throughout the reception volume. Shadow behavior remains subtle and soft-edged, with no harsh chiaroscuro contrasts, maintaining the clean, hygienic aesthetic appropriate to medical environments while avoiding clinical coldness through material warmth and proportional refinement. Spatial depth construction operates primarily through linear perspective with the strong recessional corridor defined by ceiling articulation and floor plane continuity, the latter composed of large-format white marble tiles with minimal visible grout lines, creating seamless horizontal extension. Edge treatment throughout the composition demonstrates predominantly hard, crisp transitions between black and white architectural elements, reinforcing geometric precision and contemporary minimalist vocabulary, while the louvered perimeter walls introduce softer, more modulated edge conditions through their layered horizontal elements. Surface quality varies strategically across the space: the reception desk and flooring exhibit high-gloss reflectivity characteristic of polished stone, bouncing light upward and creating subtle mirroring effects that enhance luminosity, while upholstered seating surfaces provide matte textural contrast suggesting soft, tactile comfort. The brass or gold-toned accent tables introduce a third material finish, likely brushed or satin, contributing subtle warmth without competing with primary surface statements. Stylistically, the environment aligns with contemporary minimalist commercial interior design paradigms influenced by high-end hospitality and luxury retail precedents, demonstrating sophisticated restraint, emphasis on material quality over decorative elaboration, and careful attention to proportion, lighting, and spatial sequence. The overall affective register conveys serene professionalism, aspirational refinement, and calming order, establishing an environment that communicates both medical credibility through cleanliness and geometric precision, and aesthetic sophistication through material selection and compositional balance, inviting prospective clients into a space that promises transformation through environments that themselves exemplify careful design and elevated execution.
U Magic is the interior design of a medical cosmetic clinic in Jiaojiang, China. The design blurs the boundary between interior and exterior, so that the space and its surroundings harmonize. Spatial volumes are reconfigured to form a new order of overlapping and undulating blocks, shaped by a combination of lines and curves. A spiral staircase connects the two floors and follows the constraints of the existing building structure. Warm lighting at 3500K softens the atmosphere, while light and shadow add depth along the spatial lines.
