Datalense Data Visualization

Platinum A' Design Award Winner 2025

A monumental interactive data visualization installation commands the viewer's attention, presenting an expansive wall-mounted display that spans approximately eight meters horizontally within an architecturally sophisticated interior space characterized by rhythmic linear ceiling elements of warm honey-toned timber battens running perpendicular to the viewing axis, creating a visual cadence that echoes the information architecture below. The Datalense Data Visualization by Alibaba Cloud renders an isometric aerial perspective of a cultural institution campus, employing a sophisticated chromatic palette dominated by verdant greens ranging from deep forest viridian through bright chartreuse to indicate landscaped zones, while architectural volumes appear in warm terracotta, sienna, and ochre tones suggesting traditional ceramic or brick materiality. The composition adheres to a modified golden section arrangement with the primary building mass positioned slightly left of center, balanced by generous green spaces and water features rendered in cool cerulean and teal hues that snake through the grounds creating visual pathways. Color-coded information panels in coral pink, mint green, amber, and burgundy float at strategic positions connected by subtle linear indicators to specific zones, establishing a clear visual hierarchy for wayfinding and informational content. The lighting within the physical installation space creates warm pools of amber illumination from recessed ceiling fixtures that cast gentle shadows from the standing and walking figures silhouetted in the foreground, their blurred motion suggesting the lived experience of this public-facing interface. The spatial construction employs parallel projection to maintain consistent scale relationships across the mapped terrain while avoiding the distortions of true perspective, allowing viewers to comprehend relative distances and proportions intuitively. Edge treatment throughout maintains crisp vector-graphic clarity while dimensional elements receive subtle shadowing to suggest depth, creating an optical texture that bridges flat cartographic convention with three-dimensional architectural rendering.

This system, integrated with 3D GIS and real-time rendering technology, has constructed a visualization system that combines natural aesthetics with modern design. The 18 meter long interactive large screen, equipped with AI, responds to different solar terms and festivals, changing digital scenes to create an immersive reading experience. The application of 3D simulation and digital twin technology enhances the user interaction experience. This design not only promotes cultural exchange but also reflects the innovation and progress of the library in the process of intelligent development.
