Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025
Sachi Design's Evergreen Nexus Workspace commands immediate visual attention through its monumental central staircase rendered in deep charcoal-veined black marble, ascending with geometric precision through a double-height atrium that serves as the compositional spine of this contemporary interior space. The one-point linear perspective creates an emphatic vanishing point at the upper landing, drawing the eye inexorably upward along the rhythmic progression of illuminated risers that glow with warm amber underlighting, each step functioning as a horizontal band of golden radiance against the cool obsidian treads. The compositional architecture employs bilateral symmetry with exacting formality, the staircase positioned dead center and flanked by identical concrete walls finished in a cool dove gray that suggests the matte surface of raw béton brut, their surfaces bearing subtle veining that echoes geological strata. Above, the ceiling treatment presents the work's most poetic formal gesture: a luminous canopy depicting dendritic branch patterns in silvered silhouette against diffused white illumination, creating an overhead forest canopy that transforms artificial lighting into naturalistic dappled illumination. The chromatic palette operates within a restrained triadic harmony of warm honey-amber emanating from the stair lighting, cool neutral grays of the architectural envelope, and verdant greens introduced through strategically placed plantings visible in glazed office partitions at either flank. The spatial construction creates layered depth zones: a foreground of polished dark floor extending to the stair base, the middle ground dominated by the sculptural staircase mass, and the luminous ceiling drawing attention to the upper register. Edge behaviors alternate between the hard geometric precision of architectural elements and the organic softness of the illuminated botanical ceiling motif, this tension between the rectilinear and the organic establishing the work's central formal dialogue. The material palette demonstrates sophisticated textural interplay between the polished reflectivity of the marble treads, the matte absorption of the concrete walls, the transparency of the flanking glass partitions, and the ethereal translucency of the backlit ceiling panels. Linear LED strips integrated beneath each riser create a floating quality, dematerializing the stair mass and suggesting ascension as both physical journey and metaphorical elevation. The contemporary minimalist aesthetic demonstrates affinities with the material honesty championed by architects working within the tradition of refined industrial vocabulary, while the biophilic ceiling intervention suggests engagement with current discourse surrounding nature-integrated workplace design and wellness-centered architectural practice.
Visionary workspace concept rooted in human centric design, health, productivity, and collaboration. Despite challenges of refurbishing a 6,505 sqm 30 year old confined space building, it transforms into an open concept oasis, integrating modern technology to simulate natural light casting through layers of spaces at the center void of the building. Biophilic elements evoke the rainforest, fostering well being and adaptability. Connecting outdoor nature into the space, innovation thrives in designated
