Xiangkai Weifang Shangcheng Longyue Clubhouse

Warm honey-toned wooden slats ripple across the expansive ceiling of Zhijun Zhong's Xiangkai Weifang Shangcheng Longyue Clubhouse, establishing an immediate rhythm of horizontal linearity that draws the eye through this luminous interior space with commanding compositional authority, while two sculptural white columns rise from the polished dark floor like organic mushroom forms, their smooth matte surfaces creating dramatic vertical counterpoints to the linear ceiling treatment, each column crowned by a broad circular disc that appears to float just beneath the slatted canopy, the leftmost column positioned in the middle ground captures the viewer's primary attention through its prominent scale and central placement, while a secondary column recedes into the background near floor-to-ceiling glazing veiled by translucent white curtains that filter abundant natural daylight into a soft, diffused luminosity filling the entire volume, the chromatic palette operates within a sophisticated warm-neutral harmony dominated by natural oak tones ranging from pale wheat to golden amber in the ceiling slats, complemented by the pristine titanium white of the sculptural columns, the cool forest green veining of verde marble visible at a service counter to the left, brushed stainless steel and champagne gold metallic accents at curved millwork elements, soft sage and cream upholstery on lounge seating visible in the right third of the composition, and the deep charcoal of the reflective floor surface that anchors the entire arrangement, the spatial construction employs multiple depth zones with remarkable clarity, the immediate foreground presents the dramatic ceiling and nearest column, the middle ground contains the glass-enclosed terrarium display featuring miniature landscapes and the curved reception counter with its geometric golden paneling, while the background reveals an intimate library and lounge area with illuminated wooden shelving displaying curated objects, the lighting achieves an exceptional balance of natural and architectural illumination, daylight entering through the curtained glazing provides ambient fill while concealed linear fixtures within the ceiling apertures surrounding each column create subtle halos emphasizing their sculptural presence, the overall effect suggests an atmosphere of refined tranquility, a sanctuary where organic forms and natural materials create a sense of biophilic connection within a context of contemporary sophistication and spatial generosity.

Weifang, located in the west of Shandong Peninsula, has a good reputation as a national eco-garden city. The urban construction follows the integration of architecture and nature, utilizing the planning concept of Let the city be in the forest, the forest be in the city, to create green ecological buildings. In this project of space design, the designer will continue this concept of urban planning at the same time into the design. Plant a forest under the shell of the building, shape a living space, and open up the expectation of future life in the interaction with nature.
