Silver A' Design Award Winner 2024
Remigo One Electric Outboard Motor by Remigo Electric Outboards presents a masterfully composed documentary capture of marine propulsion technology in active deployment, where the compositional architecture employs a sophisticated diagonal dynamic that traces from the lower left water surface through the central vertical motor shaft toward the upper right human figure, creating a powerful visual vector that embodies forward momentum and purposeful navigation across aqueous terrain. The chromatic palette establishes a refined dialogue between cool teal-green water tones occupying the lower register and warm neutral grays of the inflatable pontoon craft, while the pristine white and silver metallic finish of the electric outboard unit serves as the luminous focal anchor, its clean geometries contrasting beautifully with the organic rippling of disturbed water surfaces. Natural daylight filtering through what appears to be late morning or early afternoon atmospheric conditions bathes the scene in clear, slightly cool illumination that accentuates the brushed aluminum surfaces and creates subtle specular highlights along the motor housing and mounting hardware. The spatial construction presents a shallow depth of field that deliberately softens the distant harbor infrastructure and verdant hillside into an impressionistic backdrop of muted sage greens and atmospheric blues, thereby concentrating visual attention upon the crisp foreground interaction between human operator and technological apparatus. Textural complexity emerges through the juxtaposition of smooth hypalon pontoon surfaces exhibiting characteristic matte finish, the mechanical precision of machined metal components, the liquid fluidity of disturbed water exhibiting foam patterns and surface tension variations, and the organic quality of wind-tossed dark hair belonging to the partially visible figure. The figure's extended arm and hovering hand gesture suggests an intuitive, almost reverential interaction with the control interface, embodying the seamless human-machine relationship that defines contemporary sustainable marine technology. Edge treatment throughout maintains selective focus discipline, with razor-sharp definition on the motor assembly gradually dissolving toward peripheral zones, creating a natural vignette effect that honors both documentary authenticity and aesthetic refinement characteristic of premium product photography within the nautical design tradition.
RemigoOne is the first fully integrated outboard motor in the form of a rudder. Involving boaters, sailors, and enthusiasts throughout the development process gave the team strong insights needed to redesign boating into a simple, frustration-free experience for all, including those with no nautical know-how. It is the lightest in its class, with all vital parts sealed into an IP67 watertight housing, and requires near-zero maintenance. It is also truly versatile: the same unit can propel any type of vessel up to 8m/1500kg, fits seawater, and meets regulations for use on all inland waterways.
