Nubank Corporate interior

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2024

Juan Carlos Baumgartner's Nubank Corporate interior commands immediate attention through an orchestrated symphony of saturated violet and magenta hues that transform utilitarian workspace into immersive chromatic experience, where the eye first encounters a dramatic overhead canopy of deep purple mesh netting stretched across the industrial ceiling infrastructure, suspending luminous spherical lanterns that emit warm amber and soft white illumination in deliberate counterpoint to the prevailing cool purple palette. The compositional architecture establishes clear spatial zones through chromatic and textural differentiation: the foreground presents a casual dining area furnished with minimalist Scandinavian-influenced bentwood chairs in warm natural birch tones paired with sleek white circular tables, their organic curves and neutral materiality providing essential visual respite against the saturating violet environment. Suspended oversized glossy aubergine spheres descend from the ceiling at varying heights, their reflective surfaces creating dynamic specular highlights that animate the space with sculptural presence. The middle ground reveals a monumental perforated wall treatment featuring op-art inspired polka-dot patterning in gradated scales of purple circles against white ground, generating mesmerizing moiré effects and optical vibration that energize the peripheral vision. The background wall explodes with exuberant pop-surrealist murals rendered in a graphic illustration style combining whimsical creature figures, geometric abstractions, floral motifs, and playful iconography in a harmonized palette of violet, coral, lime green, and teal accents. Dramatic three-dimensional letterforms in pristine white emerge from the right portion of the space, their sculptural presence asserting brand identity while functioning as architectural intervention. The chromatic strategy employs a sophisticated analogous harmony centered on violet-magenta-purple with strategic temperature contrasts introduced through warm amber lighting and natural wood furnishing elements that prevent the saturated cool palette from becoming oppressive.

The design concept, based on the social network as a support for liquid modernity, reflects a conscious adaptation to the changing demands of the environment. In this sense, the design of this social network stands as a creative response to the tensions and paradoxes of the contemporary era, providing a meeting space that balances the need for constant adaptation with the pursuit of genuine and meaningful relationships. One of the challenges of the project was to ensure that each room, every corridor, and every corner, in general, became part of the conceptual narrative and was unique.
