FTA Group's Nanbu Eye Gymnasium emerges in this aerial twilight composition as a luminescent sculptural presence positioned along a sinuous waterway, the primary architectural form comprising a monumental domed structure whose geodesic lattice crown radiates cool white-blue illumination reminiscent of bioluminescent marine phenomena against the deepening cerulean and violet gradations of the evening sky. The compositional architecture employs a dynamic diagonal organization with the illuminated dome occupying the lower left quadrant while sweeping curvilinear pathways and adjacent outdoor courts extend organically toward the right, creating an S-curve visual flow that echoes the meandering river bisecting the middle ground. The chromatic palette presents a sophisticated temperature dialogue between the warm amber-gold accent lighting tracing the building's horizontal striations and pedestrian promenades against the cool steel blues and dusty mauves of the atmospheric twilight envelope, with the distant mountain silhouettes rendered in desaturated violet-gray establishing profound atmospheric perspective. The gymnasium's form language suggests an eye-shaped planimetric configuration when viewed from above, the dome functioning as an iris-like oculus while the flowing recreational terraces describe an orbital gesture embracing the aquatic edge condition. Horizontal banding creates rhythmic textural striations across the dome's surface, transitioning from opaque metallic cladding at the base through increasingly transparent triangulated glazing toward the apex where interior illumination escapes dramatically. The bridge infrastructure at upper left introduces orthogonal counterpoint to the predominantly biomorphic architectural vocabulary, its cable-stayed structural expression and linear roadway providing geometric tension against organic curves. Spatial depth achieves remarkable articulation through overlapping planes including foreground building, middle-ground river and bridge, and background urban fabric with scattered high-rise towers punctuated by warm artificial lighting, the entire scene rendered with crystalline clarity suggesting high-quality architectural photography captured during the blue hour transitional period when natural and artificial illumination achieve equilibrium balance.
Located by the Jialing River, this gymnasium achieves harmony, openness and interaction with nature. The design is carried out from the three core concepts of earthscape, integration and openness. The overall project is conceived as an earthscape, just like a picture scroll in one stroke along the Jialing River. The city and nature are merged together, the architecture and landscape are integrated, a continuous spatial sequence is formed along the waterfront.
