Snow Peak Visual Identity

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2023

A comprehensive visual identity system unfolds across a neutral mid-gray ground, presenting an orchestrated arrangement of corporate stationery and branded collateral that demonstrates exceptional restraint and sophisticated minimalism in its formal organization. The compositional architecture follows a loose grid structure with elements distributed across the picture plane in a manner suggesting both deliberate placement and organic asymmetry, creating visual rhythm through the repetition of rectangular formats at varying scales and orientations. The chromatic palette operates within an extremely restricted range, predominantly whites and warm grays punctuated by strategic deployments of deep charcoal approaching black, establishing a high-key tonal structure that speaks to contemporary design sensibilities rooted in Scandinavian and East Asian aesthetic traditions. The brand's visual vocabulary centers upon a distinctive linear pattern system that abstracts mountainous topography into vertical striations of varying heights, rendered in warm gray tones that cascade across folder surfaces and notebook covers like precipitation falling against an alpine horizon. This graphic device transforms geographic inspiration into pure geometric rhythm, the irregular vertical marks suggesting both statistical visualization and natural phenomena with equal conviction. A photograph of layered mountain ranges in atmospheric blue-violet haze provides the sole chromatic departure from the neutral scheme, its cool tonalities offering visual respite while establishing the conceptual foundation for the entire identity system. Typography appears in clean sans-serif letterforms with generous tracking, positioned with mathematical precision against expansive white fields. The lighting paradigm suggests diffused overhead illumination consistent with professional product photography, creating subtle shadows beneath objects that establish dimensionality without dramatic contrast. Surface textures read as smooth matte paper stocks throughout, with the tactile suggestion of quality uncoated materials. Edge treatments maintain crisp definition throughout, with hard geometric boundaries reinforcing the systematic clarity of the design approach. The arrangement demonstrates sophisticated understanding of visual hierarchy, allowing the eye to move fluidly between larger format pieces and intimate details like the USB drive and pencil that anchor the composition's lower regions.

Recognition is an important evaluation index in logo design. How to use a simple design language to integrate the hotel with the complex and changeable landmark Potala Palace is one of the difficulties in the whole design. The Potala Palace is a holy building in the eyes of Tibetans. Therefore, the design team refined the most representative element pillars as design elements, and created the image of the three-dimensional Potala Palace through two-dimensional techniques, so that the annotation conveyed a strong regional style.
