Galaxy Trail X Mid-Autumn Festival Food Packaging

Golden A' Design Award Winner 2023

Hu Jijun's Galaxy Trail X Mid-Autumn Festival Food Packaging emerges from deep shadow as a singular geometric monolith, its faceted form commanding the visual field with the austere presence of a celestial artifact descended upon an alien terrain. The packaging structure presents a complex polyhedron whose primary face comprises multiple triangular planes converging at sharp vertices, creating a crystalline architecture that captures and redirects ambient illumination across its matte graphite surfaces. The compositional arrangement positions this angular form at a dynamic diagonal, resting upon what appears to be fine granular substrate reminiscent of lunar regolith, rendered in deep charcoal tones that establish profound tonal contrast against the luminous upper edge of the container. This uppermost facet receives concentrated illumination, presenting a silvered white surface that transitions through subtle gradients of cool neutral gray, suggesting brushed aluminum or polished mineral. The chromatic scheme operates within an exceedingly restrained palette of achromatic values, spanning from near-absolute black in the shadowed recesses through middle gray on the primary triangular planes to brilliant near-white at the illuminated apex, creating a sophisticated study in tonal orchestration. Atmospheric haze diffuses through the background, softening the textural striations of the surrounding landscape into ethereal passages of blue-gray mist that suggest cosmic distance. Typography rendered in translucent silvered characters descends vertically along the package's illuminated face, integrating calligraphic elements with contemporary sans-serif letterforms in a manner that bridges traditional cultural references with futuristic industrial aesthetics. The lighting paradigm suggests a singular directional source emanating from the upper right, creating pronounced attached shadows that define each geometric facet while casting soft penumbral shadows across the granular surface below. This interplay of hard geometric form against organic particulate matter establishes a compelling dialogue between the manufactured and the natural, the technological and the primordial.

This is the Mid-Autumn Festival food gift box have been designed for clients. Unlike the standard flat iron boxes, designers elevated the top of the metal outer casing by one centimeter, which may result in additional production and transportation cost. Despite the challenges posed by this modification, it is this yearning to break through the plane and reach for the stars that fuel humanity's boundless pursuit of the universe.
