KK-Park Signage System

Updesign's KK-Park Signage System presents a striking three-dimensional wayfinding sculpture positioned within a verdant park landscape, commanding immediate visual attention through its bold polychromatic palette and playful geometric construction that synthesizes functional directional communication with sculptural public art sensibilities. The compositional architecture establishes a dynamic vertical thrust through the elongated navy blue support element that rises from manicured grass, creating a strong directional vector that grounds the eye before lifting it toward the circular focal mass above. The chromatic program demonstrates exceptional sophistication, deploying a warm-to-cool temperature gradient that progresses from the deep ultramarine blue of the vertical stem through vibrant cyan, fresh lime green, rich amber orange reminiscent of cadmium orange, and warm coral pink tones suggesting quinacridone variations, culminating in deep magenta and burgundy accents. This rainbow spectrum creates immediate visual magnetism while establishing a coherent color system that could extend across multiple signage applications. The dominant circular form featuring the parking designation occupies the upper register, its torus-like construction with central aperture creating negative space that frames the sky beyond, a technique that lightens the visual mass while adding dimensional complexity. Located in the China-South Korea (Yancheng) Industrial Park, the site of a former playground, after renovation, was restored to a Sino-Korean cultural exchange leisure block. The site's mission is to publicize the city brand and promote South Korean culture. China is correlated with South Korea in terms of history and culture. The design deconstructs and rebuilds the Korean elements such as iconic ribbons of traditional Korean costume, the traditional Korean color "Obangsaek" and strokes characteristics of Korean characters.
