Golden A' Design Award Winner 2023
Tengyuan Design's Bay Mega Mansion Exhibition Center emerges within this elevated aerial perspective as a striking architectural intervention positioned at the threshold between cultivated terrestrial landscape and expansive maritime horizon, where the building's dominant horizontal white roof plane extends with commanding presence across the middle ground, creating a powerful visual anchor that simultaneously echoes the distant horizon line while asserting bold geometric counterpoint to the organic curvatures of coastline and vegetation. The compositional architecture adheres to sophisticated principles of dynamic asymmetry, with the structure positioned along the right-center axis while the dramatic gradient sky, transitioning from warm apricot and amber tones near the solar disk through muted lavender-gray atmospheric bands toward cooler blue-gray expanses, occupies the upper register and establishes profound depth through atmospheric perspective. The chromatic palette achieves remarkable sophistication through the interplay of warm golden-hour illumination suffusing the sky and water surface with Naples yellow and raw sienna undertones against the cool titanium white and steel gray of the architectural surfaces, while the surrounding vegetation provides complementary viridian and olive accents that ground the composition in naturalistic chromatic relationships. The building's formal language demonstrates contemporary parametric design sensibilities through its sweeping curvilinear podium element that wraps around the rectilinear glass-enclosed volumes, creating visual dialogue between orthogonal precision and fluid organic gesture. Luminosity conditions capture the magical transitional moment of sunset, with the sun positioned as a concentrated warm disc radiating through atmospheric haze, casting golden reflections across the calm water surface where small vessels float in peaceful arrangement. The spatial construction employs classical three-zone organization with foreground tree canopy framing, middle-ground architectural focus, and infinite background recession toward the sea-sky confluence, while the elevated aerial viewpoint provides comprehensive understanding of the building's relationship to site context, revealing thoughtfully designed landscape interventions including sinuous pathways, manicured lawn areas, and carefully positioned specimen trees that mediate between built form and natural terrain.
At the intersection of cornice and sky, Added transition elements such as beveled edges and arcs to make the connection between the building volume and the sky more smooth. The delicate structure makes the form and content maintain sufficient coordination, and the relationship between the whole and the part is properly handled. The structure under the clean and pure building facade. The pure all glass curtain wall and simple cornice bring visitors a pure experience.
