Pullman Yuxi Yunnan Deluxe Five Star Hotel

Warm honey-toned timber beams radiate from a central axis toward the periphery of this soaring atrium interior, creating a dramatic cathedral-like spatial experience within Luo Dan - DDA's Pullman Yuxi Deluxe Five Star Hotel, where the compositional architecture establishes an emphatic one-point perspective that draws the eye inexorably toward the distant glazed entrance portal framed by geometric architectural members rendered in soft cream and natural wood tones. The ceiling structure presents an intricate lattice of intersecting beams finished in pale oak or similar light hardwood, punctuated by recessed luminaires that cast even, diffused illumination throughout the double-height volume while suspended sculptural elements resembling abstracted leaves or feathers in translucent pale aqua and cream float gracefully at intervals, introducing organic biomorphic counterpoint to the rectilinear architectural framework. Flanking walls of substantial scale feature monumental ink-wash landscape murals depicting mountainous terrain with pine forests rendered in misty gray-green and slate tones, their traditional aesthetic vocabulary harmonizing with gilt-finished columnar elements that introduce warm metallic accents punctuating the stone-clad surfaces of variegated gray marble. The floor plane presents polished stone in cool gray with white veining, its reflective surface creating luminous mirror effects that double the visual height of the space and amplify the sense of grandeur. A central sculptural installation of metallic latticed forms suggesting stylized birds or leaves occupies the focal terminus, flanked by cubic luminaires that establish processional rhythm. Seating groups in neutral taupe and warm brown occupy the right periphery, while reception stations in bronzed metal anchor the left, the asymmetrical distribution creating dynamic equilibrium. Vertical fenestration strips finished in soft celadon green introduce chromatic variation along the upper walls, their illuminated presence suggesting jade screens or traditional textile references. The spatial organization demonstrates masterful manipulation of scale, proportion, and cultural referent integration, achieving a synthesis of contemporary hospitality design with heritage aesthetics through refined material selection and sophisticated lighting design that renders the atmosphere simultaneously ceremonial and welcoming.

The project goal was to create a hotel in harmony with nature. The inspiration comes from the scenery of Yuxi, such as raindrops, cooking smoke, and clouds in the mountains. Using water as a medium to depict the colors of the panorama of Yuxi also adds a symbolic memory point to the hotel. The concept of artistic conception and imagery in Chinese painting is applied to the space, which is simple and elegant, reflecting the rich oriental beauty. While admiring the beautiful scenery, it also enables those gathered here to rediscover and define the relationship between human and nature.
