Vicky Chan's K Farm Urban Design presents a breathtaking interior perspective of a cylindrical vertical farming structure where the eye immediately encounters a luminous dome of transparent glazing supported by an elegant radial structural system of white-painted steel members converging toward a central oculus that floods the space with natural daylight of approximately 5500K color temperature suggesting midday illumination. The compositional architecture employs a compelling centralized radial symmetry with the circular floor pattern echoing the overhead dome geometry creating a powerful vertical axis that draws the gaze upward through multiple levels of verdant growing beds arranged in concentric tiers along the curving perimeter walls. The chromatic palette establishes a sophisticated dialogue between the pristine titanium white of the structural framework, the cerulean blue of the sky visible through transparent panels, and the verdant spectrum of cultivated greens ranging from chartreuse to viridian representing various leafy vegetables at different growth stages. The spatial construction demonstrates masterful command of curvilinear perspective with the cylindrical volume creating gentle distortion at peripheral edges while maintaining clarity at the central axis where human figures provide crucial scale reference. K Farm challenges urban farming under extreme conditions and turns farming into natural education that people can enjoy. Because of this coastal condition along Victoria Harbour, It has innovated three types of farming to suit this specific climate. One is Hydroponics to provide weatherproof farming for in all conditions, two is aquaponics to study how fish and plants can coexist, and three is organic with various height and species to serve as inclusive farming.
