Silver A' Design Award Winner 2022
Slender metallic verticals in a warm champagne-silver tonality establish the primary structural rhythm of Nic Srl's Over Modular System Furniture, their floor-to-ceiling extension creating an architectural lattice that transforms the bathroom environment into a composed spatial essay on organization and refinement. The compositional architecture employs a loose rule-of-thirds schema, with the luminous circular mirror serving as the gravitational center, its perfect geometry softened by an integrated ring of diffused white illumination that emanates with the gentle warmth of an overcast afternoon. This central orb anchors a carefully orchestrated asymmetrical balance wherein the left-hand garment storage module, featuring horizontal rails and a suspended textured robe in muted taupe, counterweighs the right-side shelving arrangement bearing carefully curated objects in blush, cream, and terracotta tones. The chromatic palette demonstrates sophisticated restraint, dominated by warm neutrals spanning from ivory and putty through soft grey-greens reminiscent of sage, with selective chromatic punctuation provided by a vessel basin in a dusty terracotta rose that reads as the visual temperature anchor. The tonal structure operates predominantly in the mid-to-high-key register, with value contrasts emerging primarily through material differentiation rather than dramatic chiaroscuro. Spatial construction relies on shallow atmospheric perspective, the textured wall surface receding through subtle value diminution while the deep green-grey mosaic tiles visible through the left aperture establish a secondary spatial layer suggesting interconnected rooms. Surface textures oscillate between the polished luminosity of metal components, the matte tactility of painted cabinet surfaces, and the granular minerite quality of the wall finish. Edge treatment varies strategically, with hard geometric edges defining the furniture system's rational vocabulary while softer transitions emerge in textile elements and the sfumato halo surrounding the backlit mirror. The overall atmospheric resonance suggests a sanctuary of considered domesticity, where utility achieves elegance through precise formal calibration.
