Better Bodies Hi Brand Identity

Platinum A' Design Award Winner 2022

Monumental typographic forms in pure titanium white traverse the spatial field against surfaces of absolute carbon black, creating a visual identity system of extraordinary graphic power where the letterforms spelling "WORKOUT AREA" fragment across vertical architectural panels that recede into atmospheric depth following a compelling one-point perspectival system with the vanishing point situated beyond the rightward edge of the composition. The chromatic strategy operates within the most fundamental binary opposition available to the designer—the absolute polarity of achromatic extremes—yet achieves remarkable sophistication through the manipulation of scale, spatial interval, and the interplay between two-dimensional graphic surface and three-dimensional architectural volume. Each typographic element commands substantial visual weight, with letterforms rendered at environmental scale that transforms typography from mere communication into architectural experience, the geometric precision of the sans-serif characters exhibiting characteristics evocative of twentieth-century modernist type design with its emphasis on rational form, optical balance, and the elimination of ornamental flourish. The compositional architecture exploits rhythmic repetition across the vertical panels, establishing a visual cadence that guides the eye through space while simultaneously fragmenting and reconstituting legibility—letters appear partially, overlap conceptually, and complete themselves through the viewer's movement through the environment. Lighting conditions appear to derive from a combination of overhead fluorescent sources and natural illumination entering from glazed surfaces at left, creating subtle gradations within the white letterforms that suggest dimensional presence while maintaining graphic clarity. The reflective quality of the polished concrete floor introduces a secondary register of visual information, capturing ghosted inversions of the typographic elements that double the compositional complexity without cluttering the visual field. Surface textures operate in deliberate contrast: the matte absorption of the black panels against the luminous projection of white letterforms, the industrial rawness of exposed ceiling infrastructure against the refined precision of the graphic intervention. This environmental graphics installation demonstrates how typography can transcend its informational function to become spatial experience, transforming utilitarian architecture into branded environment through the bold deployment of scale, contrast, and sequential revelation.

Better Bodies Hi is a workout studio. They needed to create an environment where users after office work could gradually prepare their body and mind towards exercise. Therefore, they designed a typeface that transforms in three stages. As users move from the reception to the workout area, the typeface of the sign gradually changes to a thicker and larger. The typeface gradually guides and encourages the user to work out. They used this typeface in logo, website, and products, to create a brand identity.
