Press Glass Headquarters

Sweeping horizontal bands of reflective glass wrap around a sinuously curved three-story structure captured during the ephemeral golden hour, where Tomasz Konior's Press Glass Headquarters emerges as a masterful dialogue between organic architectural form and the ethereal chromatic gradations of a sunset sky transitioning from deep coral through soft peach to pale lavender and eventually cool violet-blue at the zenith. The building's primary compositional dominance occupies the right two-thirds of the frame, its serpentine profile creating a powerful S-curve that guides the eye from the rounded terminus at upper right, flowing leftward along continuous ribbon balconies articulated by delicate vertical balusters that establish a refined rhythmic counterpoint to the overwhelmingly horizontal emphasis. The fenestration system presents floor-to-ceiling glazing organized in three distinct registers, each level defined by slender horizontal spandrel bands in a warm taupe or bronze metallic finish that catch and reflect the ambient sunset luminosity with subtle specular highlights. The ground level rests upon a colonnade of cylindrical concrete pilotis rendered in a neutral warm gray, their regular spacing creating a shadowed portico that provides both functional shelter and compositional grounding, anchoring the floating quality of the upper glazed volumes. The reflective glass surfaces perform remarkable chromatic alchemy, capturing and multiplying the sky's gradient palette so that the building itself becomes a secondary canvas displaying reflected clouds, silhouetted trees, and the full tonal range from amber through rose to steel blue. Foreground elements establish crucial spatial depth through a gently sloping terrain of winter-dormant turf in muted ochre and sage greens, punctuated by naturalistic plantings including ornamental grasses with feathery seed heads catching backlight as golden filaments, evergreen conifers at left presenting deep forest green silhouettes, and deciduous trees in bare winter branching patterns framing both edges of the composition. A sinuous water feature or drainage channel lined with weathered stone courses through the lower right, its organic curvilinear path echoing and reinforcing the building's own fluid geometry. The lighting paradigm presents a classic contre-jour golden hour condition with the sun positioned low at the horizon behind and slightly right of the structure, creating warm rim lighting along the building's edges while the sky performs its most theatrical chromatic display. The office buildings are usually established in city centers or at important communication junctions. However, the goal was to design Press Glass headquarters on a green plateau. Triangular plan and soft lines adds dynamics and ease to the entire structure. The design has a clear principle to locate offices along the external facade, while the relax and open space zones would be placed around the inner courtyard. Thanks to this, project takes full advantage of the natural surroundings and light.
