Doji Tower Interior Commercial and Office

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2021

Mercurio Design Lab S.r.l.'s Doji Tower Commercial and Office presents an interior retail environment of exceptional spatial refinement, where curved display vitrines articulate a flowing compositional rhythm against a chromatic foundation of warm neutrals and lustrous metallics. The visual hierarchy establishes itself through a dramatic central constellation of curved glass cases finished in blush rose with embossed floral relief panels and gleaming champagne gold trim, these serpentine forms occupying the compositional heart while radiating outward in gentle arcs that guide the eye through the generous floor plate. The ceiling architecture responds with sympathetic curvilinear geometry, featuring recessed cove lighting that traces sinuous paths in warm white illumination, creating visual echoes of the display furniture below while a pair of cylindrical crystal chandeliers descend from tiered ceiling volumes to anchor vertical attention. The chromatic palette achieves sophisticated harmony through analogous warm tones spanning cream, champagne, blush pink, soft taupe, and accents of burnished gold, punctuated by cool gray-violet passages in the hexagonal floor treatment that introduces geometric counterpoint to the prevailing organic curves. Spatial depth unfolds through careful layering, with the patterned terrazzo-effect flooring establishing the foreground plane in tessellated warm amber, cream, and pewter tones, while the curved display islands occupy the middle ground, and illuminated wall niches featuring product imagery and floral arrangements define the background perimeter. The lighting paradigm demonstrates masterful integration of ambient, accent, and decorative sources creating an atmosphere simultaneously luxurious and inviting, with diffused overhead illumination supplemented by focused spotlights within display cases and the crystalline warmth of the pendant fixtures. Edge treatments throughout favor soft transitions and rounded profiles, from the bullnose display case corners to the coved ceiling junctions, establishing a visual language of comfort and approachability within a sophisticated commercial context.

Doji Tower is the interior design of a sixteen-storey mixed-use building in Hanoi, Vietnam. The interior covers 18,204 square metres and includes retail floors, corporate offices, leased offices and a restaurant on the topmost level. The design language fuses classical and contemporary elements, resulting in an art deco character. Marble, gold leaf, coffered ceilings, Italian mosaic and European crystals are combined with open spaces, large rounded windows and curved walls. The intent is a timeless interior that reflects the beauty of gold and gems.
