Golden A' Design Award Winner 2021
Pristine white curvilinear forms cascade through the composition like frozen ribbons of cloud, the sculptural spiral staircase serving as the gravitational center of Jiang & Associates Creative Design's Dream River Bay Sales Center, where organic architecture dissolves boundaries between built environment and natural landscape through an extraordinary dialogue of materials, geometries, and atmospheric effects. The compositional architecture follows a dynamic spiral armature, the helical form ascending through the frame while establishing powerful centripetal force that draws the eye inward and upward simultaneously, counterbalanced by the horizontal sweep of cantilevered roof planes extending leftward toward distant mountains rendered in atmospheric perspective. The chromatic palette operates within a sophisticated limited range: titanium white dominates the architectural elements with subtle warm undertones suggesting afternoon illumination, while the reflective infinity pool below introduces cool steel-blue and silver tonalities that mirror the pale cerulean sky streaked with cirrus formations in warm peachy-amber hues suggesting golden hour approach. The foreground pool functions as both architectural element and compositional device, its mirror-black edge creating a crisp geometric counterpoint to organic curves above while natural boulders punctuate the water surface, introducing earth tones of weathered granite gray and moss-tinged ochre. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls at right reveal interior volumes bathed in warm ambient light, with glimpses of sculptural furniture and decorative elements in soft gold and coral tones creating inviting domestic warmth. The lighting paradigm suggests late afternoon with raking sunlight from the west casting subtle shadows beneath cantilevered elements while suffusing the white surfaces with warm luminosity. Spatial construction employs atmospheric perspective masterfully, with verdant hills receding through progressively desaturated blue-green values toward distant mountain silhouettes rendered in soft violet-gray. Edge treatment varies strategically: architectural forms maintain crisp hard edges against sky while reflections dissolve into soft-focus abstraction in the pool's surface. The stylistic vocabulary synthesizes parametric contemporary architecture with biophilic design principles, evoking the organic modernism of Zaha Hadid while demonstrating sensitivity to landscape integration reminiscent of traditional garden pavilion traditions. Surface textures range from the smooth matte finish of architectural concrete to the liquid mirror of still water to the rough tactile presence of natural stone, creating rich material dialogue. The overall atmospheric resonance achieves a quality of serene transcendence, the spiral form suggesting infinite ascent while horizontal elements ground the composition in earthly landscape.
The project is located in Guiyang Qingzhen city that has high reputation of "Xihu Lake City". Seamlessly combined urban and natural landscape, while embedding in mountain and wetland. J and A put the unique natural landscape integrate into interior design. It expresses the essence of modern decorate design by the minimalism approach, and create a land of silence which is full of modern artistic.
