Vanke Fontanelle Aesthetics Pavilion Experience Center

Reflective water planes dominate the foreground of Wei Jinjing, Wei Yaocheng, Zhang Huichao's Vanke Fontanelle Aesthetics Pavilion Experience Center, creating a mirror-like obsidian surface that doubles the architectural volume and mature deciduous tree positioned at the left quadrant, establishing an immediate dialogue between constructed geometry and organic natural form. The compositional architecture operates through a sophisticated interplay of horizontal bands, with the floating white ceiling plane creating a decisive datum line approximately one-third from the top, while floor-to-ceiling glazing panels articulate the boundary between interior lounge spaces and exterior courtyard. The chromatic palette demonstrates remarkable restraint, dominated by achromatic values ranging from the deep charcoal of the water feature to the warm ivory of ceiling surfaces, punctuated by the verdant olive and sage greens of mature foliage and precisely trimmed hedgerow parterre. Luminosity emerges from multiple sources including the cool overcast sky providing diffused zenithal illumination, warm interior ambient lighting visible through transparent facades at approximately 3000K color temperature, and the subtle golden glow emanating from a sculptural latticed vessel positioned as focal anchor at the visual terminus. Spatial construction employs one-point perspective with the vanishing point positioned centrally within the glass pavilion, drawing the eye along the reflecting pool's longitudinal axis through the architectural frame toward distant landscape beyond. The material vocabulary speaks of contemporary minimalism with evident high-specification execution: frameless structural glazing with minimal mullion profiles, smooth rendered masonry walls in pale limestone or concrete finish, polished stone or resin flooring exhibiting high reflectivity, and river pebble aggregate creating textural transition at the water's edge. Edge behaviors alternate between the razor-sharp horizontal lines of architectural elements and the organic irregularity of tree canopy silhouettes, creating dynamic tension between geometric precision and natural asymmetry. The atmospheric resonance suggests contemplative serenity, a liminal space between interior refuge and natural landscape, inviting meditation upon the relationship between human construction and environmental context during the tranquil blue hour of early evening.

The project is the experience center of the residential property Fontanelle developed by Vanke, located in Keqiao District, Shaoxing, China. Shaoxing is renowned as the Oriental Venice. The design team drew on the aesthetic of silk, integrating the poetic scenery of southern China with the stylish and ambience of Apennine peninsula, creating a modern space that leads a special lifestyle.
