Art Nesterenko's The Rossmore Residential Multi-Unit presents a striking vertical composition captured during the liminal twilight hour, where the building's distinctive sculptural facade commands the viewer's attention through an extraordinary interplay of organic curvature and architectural mass. The structure rises approximately ten stories, its primary visual rhythm established by a series of elongated U-shaped concrete fins that sweep upward from ground level, their surfaces rendered in a sophisticated palette of warm mauve, dusty rose, and cool lavender grays that shift in chromatic temperature as they catch the ambient crepuscular light. These monumental curved elements, numbering approximately eight across the primary facade, create deep vertical channels of shadow and recessed balcony spaces, establishing a compelling figure-ground relationship where solid architectural mass alternates with void and transparency. The compositional armature follows a predominantly symmetrical bilateral organization, though subtle asymmetries in planting, interior illumination, and peripheral architectural context prevent static rigidity. The golden hour illumination, emanating from a diffused western source, bathes the uppermost portions of the fins in warm amber tones while the lower registers receive cooler reflected light from the pale lavender-blue sky. Horizontal floor plates, glimpsed between the vertical fins, feature generous terraces adorned with verdant cascading greenery—deep viridian and emerald foliage that provides chromatic counterpoint to the predominantly mineral palette. The Rossmore is a contemporary luxury apartment building. It is inspired by the concepts of Art Deco Design and adapted to today’s world. This has been reflected in the material selection, the sculptural elements and the building facade. The Rossmore will use concrete cladding and timber to allow for sustainable design and cost effective construction.
